Designing and manufacturing power products for over 30 years
We provide off-the-shelf power solutions as well as customised design, engineering, PCB assembly and box build services inhouse from our facilities in the UK and China. Our portfolio includes power supplies, DC-DC converters, LED drivers, cable products and single board computing (SBC).
The Stadium Group power division is delivered by Stadium Stontronics from a 20,000 square foot production and distribution facility in Reading (UK) providing transformer winding, system assembly, soldering, prototyping and low volume manufacturing, as well as labelling and kitting services. Medium to high volume manufacturing is delivered from our manufacturing centre of excellence in Dongguan, China.
We have an extensive distribution network with key partnerships with Future Electronics, RS Components, Allied Electronics, Farnell, Newark, Rapid Electronics and CPC. We hold exclusive distributor agreements with PowerLD and Pairui.
“Our power business is supported by a dedicated Norwich-based regional design centre to drive innovation in efficiency, green tech, miniaturisation and dedicated solutions for vertical markets. Our high calibre power supply engineers are at the forefront of design in this space and most recent developments include battery backed PSUs for fire detection and SAP Appendix Q PSUs for HVAC systems.” Martin Brabham, Managing Director – Stadium Stontronics
Our journey in the power supply industry, which began over 30 years ago, has led to the growth of a solid Power business with design, manufacturing and distribution capabilities. The business was originally formed as Daren Electronics in 1979. In 1998 the company was acquired by Stadium Group plc and in 2001 the group acquired a low cost manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China where a dedicated power supply production facility was established for high volume manufacturing.
A number of further acquisitions have followed to strengthen the product portfolio including KRP Power Source, Ferrus Power and Fox Industries.
In 2015 we opened a regional design centre for power products R&D in Norwich and we acquired Stontronics, a leading power supply distribution business based in Reading, UK.
In 2016 the Stadium Power and Stontronics businesses were fully integrated and renamed Stadium Stontronics. In January 2017 we acquired cable products business Cable Power Ltd and in September we acquired PowerPax UK Limited.
